Atomic Layer of the Day:
If you're on LinkedIn, you surely know who Tuan TranPham is. And if you know, then you probably already heard he has joined Anisoprint—and in a very senior role: President of the Americas and Asia Pacific.
This isn’t particularly surprising. Aside from his LinkedIn presence (which, let's be honest, is quite different in style from mine…), Tuan’s CV is exceptionally rich: Z Corporation, 3D Systems, Objet, Stratasys, Arcam, Desktop Metal, Azul… and now Anisoprint. Of course, we wish him all the best and great success.
But the question is, do you know exactly what Anisoprint is?
Anisoprint was founded in Russia by Fedor Antonov, who remains a prominent figure in the company. Initially, the company was closely linked to the Skolkovo Innovation Center, a Russian hub for tech development. Anisoprint benefitted early on from Russian expertise and resources in composite manufacturing. This foundation enabled the company to develop its unique 3D printing technology for continuous fiber-reinforced polymers—a direct competitor to the American Markforged.
In 2018, Anisoprint moved its headquarters to Luxembourg, seeking a strategic base for accessing European markets. Luxembourg provided logistical benefits, a favorable business environment, and the “Made in Luxembourg” label, enhancing Anisoprint’s image as a high-quality European manufacturer.
After several years in Luxembourg, Anisoprint underwent a major shift in 2023 when Haxiao Technology, a Guangdong-based company from China, acquired a controlling stake in it. Following this acquisition, Anisoprint moved its headquarters to Suzhou, China, to tap into the growing demand for industrial 3D printing in the region.
Later in 2023, Anisoprint also experienced leadership changes, with Ryan Liu stepping in as CEO while Antonov transitioned to the role of CTO. The company's headquarters then relocated again, this time to Singapore.
So, this is the new company Tuan has joined. As president of the American branch, he’ll likely face strong competition from Markforged and Continuous Composites, especially given that they employ the same production method.
