The Filament - a new brand of low cost, yet good quality, EU-made materials for 3D printing

Atomic Layer of the Day:
My good friends at Spectrum Filaments will be unveiling a new line of very budget-friendly 3D printing materials at Formnext, under the straightforward yet specific name “The Filament.” The goal is simple: in the face of the gradual influx of cheap, Chinese filaments flooding the European market (referring to “no-name” brands, not long-established ones), Spectrum aims to offer an alternative in the form of an original, European (specifically Polish) product.
Spectrum Filaments is currently one of the three largest suppliers of 3D printing materials in Europe. The company operates on super-fast state-of-the-art production lines and offers nearly 100 original products in an endless array of colors. They truly deliver a “spectrum of choice”: from PLA in virtually any color to genuinely eco-friendly materials enriched with algae, hemp, or flax, and highly specialized engineering-grade materials infused with carbon fiber or Kevlar.
“The Filament” line includes basic materials such as PLA, PETG, PLA High Speed, as well as pre-colored PLA and PETG reinforced with carbon fiber. These materials are priced at €15.90 (including VAT) for 1 kg of PLA on a spool, and €14.90 (including VAT) for 1 kg of PLA ReFill.
I highly encourage you to visit the company’s booth at next week’s Formnext, as they’ll be showcasing a wide array of exciting innovations (e.g., flame-retardant certified PLA).
